The Sidney Myer Music Bowl was built in 1959. In May 2000 the supporting cables for
the roof structure were “Zinganised” to extend the design life. The preparation was a
high pressure water blast with limestone injection, supplemented by hand preparation
methods where necessary. The Zinga application was a single coat resulting in a DFT of 60µm, with special attention to working the Zinga into crevices of the cables. These photos were taken during a site visit in July 2009. They demonstrate the ability of Zinga to work on a flexible structure and the lack of undercreep where damaged.
