TransGrid is the owner and operator of the high voltage electricity transmission network in the Australian state of New South Wales. Essentially, TransGrid connects generators of electricity to retail distributors, and allows for the national trading of electricity. It forms the backbone of Australia’s electricity network. TransGrid operates 12,492 km of transmission lines and cables.
In 2006, the hot-dip of 12 towers were repaired using ZINGA. Each tower, having a total surface of 280m², required 300 kg of ZINGA. After thorough evaluation by Transgrid Networks, they decided to specify ZINGA to protect another 148 high tension pylons against corrosion. The works started in late 2011, and to date TransGrid has used ZINGA as the standard repair system for its high-voltage pylons.
